Face Shape

While pulling your hair back so it does not block your face, look in the mirror.  If your chin and jaw line is more angular, then you have a square-shaped face and you should look for rounder sunglasses.  If you have more of an oval or round face, square or angular sunglasses will work better for you.

	For example, Paris Hilton has a square jawline and face, therefore round sunglasses look better on her.
Nicole Richie, however has a more oblong or round face, so sunglasses with hard angles look good on her.

Face Size

Large and oversized sunglasses frames are all the rage these days, but remember, if you have large or prominent cheeks, large frames may rest uncomfortably on them and irritate the skin as you smile or talk.  After a while, you could experience red marks on your cheeks, and no fashion accessory looks good if you are uncomfortable wearing it.

Try to find a pair of sunglasses that are in good proportion with your face size.  A small pair of sunglasses on a large face will only accentuate the size of the face and a large pair will do the same to a small face.

Color

Like any other fashion accessory, the color of the sunglasses can accentuate color on your face or clothing.  All complexions fall into one of two basic color bases: cool or warm.  A cool complexion has a fair or pale color that commonly has rosy cheeks and sunburns easily.  Cool colors have blue or pink undertones.  Warm complexions have golden or olive tones which tan easily.

Some examples of frame colors best for warm coloring are: camel, khaki, gold, copper, peach, orange, coral, off-white, fire-engine red, warm blue and blond tortoise. For cool coloring, the best eyeglass frame hues are black, rose-brown, blue-gray, plum, magenta, pink, jade, blue and demi-amber (darker) tortoise.

1. Do some research on the seller. If you find a great brand name pair of sunglasses online, and the price seems to be too good to be true, they just may be a fake.  Check out the reviews for the seller. Spend some time to read reviews from other buyers to see if they had a positive experience dealing with the seller.
   Look out for any seller that doesn't have any reviews or has a disproportionate number of negative reviews.  Also, be wary of sellers that claim they got the sunglasses for a gift and want to get rid of them.  That may be the case, but it may also be a scam.  Try to buy from sellers that specialize in designer sunglasses, have plenty of positive reviews and are willing to answer questions.
2. Ask questions. Ask some questions about the condition of the sunglasses.  Ask if the seller has a return policy and have them provide some details about the features of the glasses.  A reputable seller will promptly answer any questions and if they stand behind their product, will offer some kind of return policy.
3. Determine if the image is the actual pair of sunglasses or a representative picture from the manufacturer's site. This is especially important if the sunglasses are used.  If they are listed as used, or gently used, make sure you can see real pictures to determine if there are any scuff marks or imperfections.  Ask the seller for more details if they do not provide any in the description.
4. Use a trusted source to pay for your item. Use a service like PayPal to pay for your purchase.  They will moderate any dispute you have with the seller and will refund your money if they find that the seller has misrepresented the facts in the auction.  Also, check with your credit card company to determine if they have policies to refund your purchase price in the case of fraud.
5. Communicate with the auction host as soon as you suspect fraud. If you're buying sunglasses from eBay, their policy requires sellers to properly represent the condition and authenticity of the item.  If you receive something that you believe was misrepresented by the seller, contact eBay and PayPal immediately to file a complaint.  Not only will they do everything they can to get your money back, they will ban that seller from selling fraudulent sunglasses to others.
